My Infographic

This assignment was a challenge for me.  I had my data and I knew my audience but I struggled with how to put it together.  I needed it to be two-fold.  Information for students and teachers.  I hope I got the point across.  We'll see about that when I get responses from you.  I'm counting on that feedback before I share at my school.  I really do appreciate your responses and advice.

I used Glogster to create my infographic.  I had never used it so it was a challenge for me.  I surveyed my 3-5 students earlier in the school year and needed a way to share that information.

  1. This presentation is very cute! I am interested to know if the information was about the students having access versus having their own device/account. I would have not thought of elementary aged students having their own facebook account. I think your graphic not only shows the need to continue using technology for literacy, but to also continue the conversation about cybersafety.

  2. Wow, I am amazed by the number of students who have access to Facebook and cell phones at such an early age. I wonder if the students are responding based on what they know is at home or if they actually have access to it. For example, we have Kindle at home so my fourth grader would say yes to having an e-reader. But he does not use it...it is all mine!! I do think it works for both the teachers and the students. The information is easy to read and understand. My only possible suggestions would be to make the title a little more prominent (the font is close to the same size as some of your headings) and possibly clarify the results to show whether the students had access to the device or simply had it in the home.

  3. I also struggled with Glogster the first time I tried to use it. Great tool, but it can be overwhelming to find the right graphic elements to use and fit everything together. Your infographic is visually outstanding, very clever and fun to look at. Exactly what I would want if I was in your class. I'm sure your students will love it.

  4. I think that it is visually appealing to both students and teachers. The students will enjoy seeing the results of the survey in such a colorful and creative way!
